Lailat-Ul-Qadr (The Night of Power)

Lailat-Ul-Qadr, The night of dignity and honour. This is one of the holiest and blessed nights, which is likely to occur on one of the odd nights during the last ten days of Ramadan and most likely to be on the 27th.

By odd nights, the reference is made to the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th night of the month of Ramadan. No one night has been fixed so that the desire to find it may increase and people may spend more nights in worshipping Allah (Jalla Jallaho). From this aspect, the importance of `Itikaaf' (seclusion) during the last ten days of Ramadhan is clear.

This year (1427H), this night will fall on Thursday, October 19th, 2006. Below is the sequence in which the events will take place that evening:

  • Namaz-e-'Isha (at 8:30PM)
